Live Music

This is one of the main reasons for buying our place. We wanted a place where family can come with their kids and enjoy live music! Our venue is huge! We can seat up to 130+ people, we have several propane heaters to keep warm and fill the whole backyard with a warm atmosphere.

It looks like the music will be flowing nonstop here at Chillin’. We just upgraded the music system and we plan to continue with new specialty drinks behind the bar along with the usual beer and wine and great food! Bring your special someone or just come and enjoy the music on DATE NIGHT! Or you might meet that someone special! We’ll have good food, drinks, great atmosphere and FANTASTIC LIVE MUSIC that will make you laugh, cry and remember old/new times.

Did I mention there’s NO COVER?! Just come and enjoy the music. Come just once and you’ll be back!

“Music Memories, 48 Years and Counting…”

Jeff has been performing since he was 14 years old. While in high school in Arlington, Texas, Jeff studied music under Louis Harris. Jeff performed in Lake City at the Popcorn Palace during the summers of 1977-1978. He was selected TEXAS ALL-STATE BASS SOLOIST in high school and received a music scholarship to UTA in Arlington Texas. While at UTA, Jeff met the love of his life, Shari. Jeff then became an Arlington Fire Fighter. After a back injury, he retired from the fire department and moved the family to Lake City, Colorado in 1990.

Over the next 30 years, Jeff has performed all over at churches, funerals, weddings, and various venues. Then – Jeff and Shari bought the coffee shop in Lake City now known as Chillin’. Jeff’s favorite part of the property is the music venue out back. Now, Jeff can play music any time he wants!

The last few years have been quite exciting! At Hutch’s place, Jeff opened for Michael Martin Murphey, Asleep at the Wheel, the Bellamy Brothers, Suzy Bogguss, Johnny Rodriguez, Johnny Lee, Hal Ketchum, Marty Haggard (Merle’s son), Restless Heart, Exile, Ryan Murphey , Susan Gibson and Lee DeWyze!

In January of 2019, Jeff and Shari, along with some great friends, went on the Country Music Cruise. While on the cruise, Jeff won the 3-day talent contest! The Prize? He got to open for Patty Loveless and the late Joe Diffie! He also got to perform at the piano bar with Jimmy Fortune, tenor (He’s the ‘Little Guy’ with the Statler Brothers from 1982 – 2002!) WHAT A TRIP!

But there’s more! One of our excursions on the cruise was on a catamaran. This is where Jeff and Shari discovered this drink called a ‘pain killer’, but that’s another story! On the catamaran trip, Jeff performed with 3 Elvis impersonators, entertaining the crew and guests. The Elvis impersonators recognized Jeff from the talent contest! Another great adventure!

The summer of 2020, even though, in many ways, the year is one to forget, we, at Chillin’ had one of the best outdoor music seasons in Lake City! Our music guests were Brian Snow, Dennis David and Tim Harvard, Gary Beard, and Wyatt Beard (keyboard player and band leader for Kenny Chesney). Even in the year of COVID-19, we had great crowds and a great time each week! In 2020, at the first ever KCBS/OHV weekend in Lake City, Jeff got to open for Gary Morris (Wind Beneath My Wings, Why Lady Why).

Every year just gets better and better here in the backyard of Chillin’! We can’t wait to see what the future brings, and we hope to see you there with us
